Sauna Culture

Sauna culture is an integral part of the lives of the Finnish and Sami people with traditions passed down through generations and shared within the community. The sauna is considered a sacred space – a “Church of Nature” that offers purification of the body, mind, and spirit instilling deep peace and creating healing in all who partake in its ritual.
At the heart of the sauna experience lies löyly, the spirit or steam released by casting water onto a stack of heated stones within the walls of the Sauna. Saunas come in many forms – electric, wood-heated, smoke and infra-red all of which offer vast healing benefits. The Sauna at Sisu Oasis is a (insert sauna type and specific benefits of that type of sauna here) The heat of the sauna is contrasted with cold plunges or cold showers to further stimulate the circulation and lymphatic systems. Additional treatments such as massage and exfoliation therapies maximize the healing effects of sauna.
